The Angel Fire Community Foundation and Loving Family Memorial Fund would like to thank the greater Angel Fire, Black Lake and Moreno Valley community for another rewarding, successful Angel Fire Wellness Fair.
The Aug. 5 event was facilitated by 18 vendors and more than 120 participants availed themselves of vendors' services during the four-hour event.
The health services included 30 laboratory blood draws and 38 pints of blood donated to the United Blood Services of Albuquerque.
Margaret Van Antwerp, a family nurse practitioner, of the Moreno Valley Clinic coordinated the fair. She reported many participants commented on treatments they tried, including chiropractic, osteopathic, acupuncture and massage. "People stayed and were engaged for over an hour and, in some cases, two hours," she said.
Special thanks go to the Angel Fire Rotary Club for its help with promotion and coordination of the blood drive. Thanks also to the Angel Fire Fire Department for its fire extinguisher and fire safety demonstrations.
"Thanks to all who helped! It cannot be done without you all! Next year, we will focus on children's health and nutrition for health," Van Antwerp said.
