April 13, 12:44 p.m., Des Georges Lane — A business owner complained to police about the strong smell of marijuana emanating from a neighbor’s residence. The business owner said their neighbor had a permit to grow marijuana but suggested the smell had become a nuisance.

April 9, 8:48 a.m., Shoplifting, Paseo del Pueblo Sur — A woman purchased groceries at SuperSave and then reportedly attempted to steal a burrito from the same store. When staff approached her, she begged they not call police. When they started to call police, she ran from the store, leaving behind the groceries she purchased.
March 26, 12:14 p.m., Lost property, Camino de la Merced — A woman lost a diamond and turquoise ring in the parking lot of Smith’s Food and Drug. The ring was custom made, she told police, and stamped “Santa Fe.”
March 21, 4:34 p.m., Accident with injuries, Herdner Road — A motorcyclist reportedly drove into a fence. The driver then pushed the motorcycle west on Herdner Road towards Salazar Road.

9:47 a.m., Shoplifting, Paseo del Pueblo Sur — Staff at Walmart reported a woman refused to stop shoplifting items from the store. She reportedly left on foot heading west on Camino de la Merced. The woman was reported to have been wearing a red velour jumpsuit and carrying a black diaper bag.
Joseph S. Tafoya is wanted on a Magistrate Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear on charges of Great Bodily Harm by Vehicle, Aggravated DWI, Leaving the Scene of an Accident (with Great Bodily Harm of Death), Criminal Damage to Property, and Reckless Driving.
Feb. 14, 7:08 a.m., Paseo del Pueblo Sur — A caller said she bought a balloon the previous evening and was informed it would last approximately three months. The caller said she was promised the ability to exchange the balloon if it did not last. The balloon did not remain airborne for three months but the balloon retailer reportedly did not honor her offer to exchange the balloon and spoke profanely with the caller. The caller said she did not think the woman who sold her the balloon should be allowed to vend inside the town of Taos.

Jan. 2, 5:18 p.m., Archuleta Lane — A caller said neighbors were harassing her. They took her to court, knocked over her wood pile, put things in her driveway to puncture her tires and cut her electric line, the woman alleged.
