The Taos Pueblo Tribal Council has appointed new officials for 2012, according to announcements from the tribe’s governor and war chief’s offices. Named as governor is Laureano B. Romero and as war chief, Benito M. Sandoval.

Other officials on the governor’s staff are Lt. Gov. Gilbert Suazo Sr., Tribal Secretary Floyd D. Gomez, First Sheriff Harold V. Cordova, Second Sheriff Patrick J. Romero, Head Fiscale Ben John Martinez, Lt. Fiscale Joseph P. Romero, and fiscales John Suazo, Matthew J. Lujan and Nolan C. Gomez.

In the War Chief’s office are Lt. War Chief Albert Archuleta, War Chief Secretary Harold T. Lefthand, and staff members Edward J. Concha, Geronimo Romero, Tobias H. Martinez, Gordon M. Martinez, Dominic J. Montoya, Jeremy S. Lujan, George M. Track, Antonio L. Gomez and Andrew Sandy.
