In Slavic mythology, Kikimora is a feminine house spirit. According to Wikipedia, Kikimora lives behind the stove or in the cellar and makes noises that sound like a hungry mouse. When a home is kept tidy, Kikimora watches over the chickens and housework. Otherwise, she is a menace: breaking dishes, whistling and making other nightly noises. more
