Penasco girls sweep SF Prep to advance in state tournament

The Penasco Lady Panthers took a 3-0 win over Santa Fe Prep during the first round of the state tournament on Saturday (Nov. 8).

The girls move on to compete for the state title, with tournament pool play Wednesday (Nov. 12), and bracket play running Thursday (Nov. 13) through Saturday (Nov. 15).

The Lady Panthers took a close first game 25-23, but put up a strong lead in the second game to run away with a 25-15 win.

Santa Fe came back in the third game to within two points of a win, but the Penasco girls rallied from down 23-19 to take a 26-24 game and end the match in three.
