Adam Wheat, 29, was taken to Holy Cross Hospital when Wheat asked one of his employees at Jack Wrap It to drive him.
No information was immediately available on Wheat's condition, but Jack Wrap It employee Tony Knief said that Wheat was attacked by the cat while in Taos Ski Valley.
"I guess he was hiking and he heard this hissing and he turned around and it scratched his chest pretty bad," Knief said. "He drove to Jack Wrap It and came in asked me to take him to the hospital. I thought he was joking at first but then I saw he had these scratches in him."
Knief added that Wheat also hit his head in the encounter.

We are so lucky to have these animals still living in our country, along with bears and wolves and coyotes, but everybody just wants to kill them.
I was in Scotland last year, and for all their vast mountainous regions and wild areas, there are no predatory animals left. I felt it as a sad loss. No real wildness left there. "

Besides these Mountain Lions are over populating at a very fast rate. And they do become dangerous when the human populations start to move into THEIR (as well as any other form of wildlife) BACK YARDS. "

I love them personally-but from a distance.
Sometimes they do get a little up close and personal. We've had some close encouters in the past 2-3 years out near the south end of Blueberry Hill. They jumped in my neighbor's sheep barn and tore up all 17 sheep killing two. I was a little nervous about my smallish wife taking out the trash. If they worry you a little, get a couple of really big dogs-or Wolfdogs to keep them at bay. The Wolfdog howls will also keep the coyotes away-or at least a couple of hundred yards away. "
